It seems that geo caching won’t work on geo that doesn’t deform.  Is there a work around?

I’ve got a creature that is rigged and animated.  I’m trying to cache out the geo for the creature and then apply the geo cache to the final version of the creature that isn’t rigged.

The body of the creature will accept the geo cached animation correctly, but other parts of the creature that don’t deform (eyes, fingernails, toenails) don’t accept the geo cache and just stay standing still in space while the creature walks off.  It seems maya’s geo cache won’t work with geo that only translates in space.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,
Michael
