Has anyone had any success with using the HumanIK to retarget some animation between two pre-created rigged characters or even just some mocap example animation to a pre-rigged character?  I’ve got it to work between some mocap source animation and a newly created HumanIK skeleton and that’s the only scenario the video and tutorials cover.  I started with a pre-rigged character, animated a walk cycle, and now I want to transfer that to a different pre-rigged character so I don’t have to animate a walk cycle for the other character.

I characterized both characters as best I could but I seem to be getting some errors when I try to create a control rig for the target character.  I think the errors have to do with the joints being connected to some IK control curves.  Do I have to disconnect the skeleton from the rig if I want to transfer animation?  That’s seems kind of inefficient if that’s the case.

I’m using some rigs I dled from Creative Crash.  If anyone has any success with this, could they post a tutorial or video on it? Thanks.

You don’t want any ik on it, the HumanIK will want to put it’s own control rig on it. Have it nothing but joints.
