I’m currently doing a facial animation and I’m stuck at trying to import the audio into Maya. Everytime after importing the audio, whenever I try to put the audio into the timeline or into Trax, Maya just crash with the message “Fatal Error. Attempting to save in...”.
The audio is a wav format with sampling rate of 44,100. I’ve make sure that the animation preference is in real-time. I’m just not sure what is wrong. For now I’m still a few weeks away from deadline.
Most likely it was saved in a compression format unsupported by Maya.
Did you create the .wave file?
Do you have any audio editor software you can save the file out into a raw .wav format with?

I use Audition 3.0 to extract the audio and saved it into a .wav
When your going thru the ‘save’ dialog, it should prompt you for the compression/codec to use (PCM, MP3, etc.)

Thanks! I’ve solved the problem by saving the wave file under ACM Waveform compression. Tried other compressions of wave, apparently only the ACM works with Maya.
