Transfer animation from one character to another?

hey guys...I am using Maya, 2009 and can anybody pls tell me how can i load animation from max or from maya itself...from one character to another character...i don’t have much knowledge of animation, so if possible, pls tell me the options also....i ll b very grateful to u....

Hi there,

THNKR has just pointed you to a great solution.

As for me,
I usually will just do a copy keys in the time slider and paste it onto the relative controller on the ‘other’ character.
to me, it slightly cleaner and also, since you are doing controller by controller, you know when any goes wrong.

Say, one with a different Local Rotation Axis, Etc, Etc…

If the characters have the same rig or a rig with the same names, you can use FBX to export an animation only and then import that animation to the character. It works really great!
