Hi - I have been modeling with Maya for about a year now, and now starting to play around w/ animation.  I did some tutorials and have a “basic” understanding.  I want to try to make a “pose” - so I created a sphere, and just want to have it move up as a pose.

- select sphere
- animate
- create pose
- option box - I give it a name and press “create pose”

I get the error “// Error: Select exactly one character”

Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I did a search on the forum for this error, but nothing came up

Thanks - Eric

A “Character” in Maya is a set of attributes from (possibly more than) one node(s). You need to create one first before creating the pose.

Hi - are you saying I need to create a “Character” out of the object that I want to create this pose for.  I think your suggestion from my other post would work better for this situation.  Thanks again.
