2008 Maya is not opening. Why?

Hi, I have been using Maya for about 5 years and have never had any problems downloading them in 5 plus computers. I just got a new apple laptop, downloaded it and now am unable to open as it is showing that the application is missing from the hard drive. I tried downloading again and it is still showing the application missing. I find it odd and is there another way to download the 2008 application and use the key I have?
