hai co members am a newbie to maya...but i have been wrking in max for 1 yer.Very late but i have started digging to maya animaton my self..now i just on a animation practise.what i what to know is
How we can do chain animation in maya2008?
i have modelled the chain in max.each piece is diffrent objects.hope thats the way i think.
any one plz provide any clues for me to go ahead,or any links,sample files etc.

Hi!

It is a copule ways to do this. Do you want to dynamicly animate the chain? If yes. You can do this, by rigidy bodies, all parts of chain should be a rigidy active body - but that way is too hard do calculate. But you can cheat it little bit, by doing a spring constrain betwen all parts, that will be more faster. Or you can use a Ncloth. But you must say what you want in animation, the chain will be colide with other obiects. Or it will be close to camera. There is many way to do this, but we must a find the best method.
