The bevel tool doesn’t work very well and from what I’ve read it’s terrible and not just me being inexperienced with Maya.

I have a basic square model with shapes extruded from it’s sides. How can I get the edges bevelled so the object doesn’t appear so sharp? Using the bevel tool just tears up the edges rather than rounding them off.

Bevel it several times so its not just one time this will get you the look I think you’re after.

the default bevel on its own usually wont give you the result you are after, but it has plenty of options in its history node that you will have to tweak depending on the look you want
