Hello all,

I am testing the Shatter effect in Maya. All works as expected with Maya primitives but as soon as I import a model in .obj format, the Shatter effect doesn’t work anymore (errors messages). My models come from Modo and I have tested freezed and none-freezed ones.

Do I have to apply a certain function to these models before use them in Shatter?

Any help would be more than welcome.

instead of just telling us that there is an error message maybe tell us whats its the message?

The error message says nothing interesting, just that an error occured while running the script.
This is for Solid Shatter, for Surface Shatter, the script does nothing, just deselecting my model.

Yes, it`s strange bug in MAYA OBJ import plugin… you need export OBJ without Material options or open OBJ file in text editor and delete all material declarations....

Yep strange but .fbx and .fbx 2006 don’t work better.
I try to import simple primitives for the moment and none of them are working.
Any other ideas?
How do you guys make this from other 3D applications?

I can make Surface Shatter to work by triangulated my models inside Maya, but Solid Shatter isn’t working better.
