well, ive gone with the XNA game studio engine, and to be honist, im not even that skilled with Maya yet. i had no idea that so much scrpiting was involved. so if anyone knows were i can get lessons on how to do coding in Visual C# 2005, this would help alot.

Dude, don’t mean to burst your bubble, but sounds like you have a long way to go and might need to get into Computer programming and enhance your CG knowledge before actually making your game. Some local community colleges will teach you how to do that. I suggest asking your local highschool for more info. Going from modeling to game engine is not a click of a button.

Also before you go into making games you have to be semi expirenced in a programming language like C++ or C#. These are both pretty hard to learn.

Maybe I’ve got a little hint for you: Why don’t you try to start with “3D Game Studio”? There is a free version which includes a game engine (called A7) and a script-editor as well as a modell editor - but you don’t have to use that one, you may keep using maya just like I do. The Languages which may be used are Lite-C, C-Script, C++ and Delphi (with SDK plugin). Here’s the official page:
http://www.3dgamestudio.com/
If you need a level-editor or higher features, you’ll have to update at least to the “extra"-Version which costs about 70$ I think, sounds quite a lot but then you’ll have everything you need. There are *loads* of tutorials, 25 of them are already included when you download the engine, and there is a monthly user-magazine that comes with many tutorials as well. Besides, you may always ask the community ^^
Hope I could help you - you remind me of myself when I was at your age… (I started with 2D-games, though xD)
Greetz!
