can you restore your drivers to the earlier version which if it works then we will know if it is the drivers. Before you try that can you batch render a simple animation and of 2 frames in low quality

i batch rendered simple animations with multi frames. the script says “ cannot see the image file “ when i do - show batch render.
it still renders all the frames though, so that is good.

i batch rendered my big scene without the character rig walk sequence. it batch renders.
upon batch rendering only the character rig walk sequence it only renders 1 frame.
i have character set selected. the rig has ik / clusters / locaters / in between frames etc.
so the problem is in the character rig walk sequence.

on a side note, i can no longer save my timeline choices in preferences. it always bounces back to 240 frames.
did restore to default and it still does it. this has happened since i uninstalled / cleaned the registry / then installed sp1 yesterday.

i think these problems are because of my OS being vista 64 bit ultimate.

i just batch rendered a new simple animation with bones and IK. it worked.
i have to presume that there is a flaw in the rig. so now i will dump the rig, and go forward.
thanks for the help, i think thats my plan.

This is likely due to a firewall blocking maya’s batch render.

You know this probably because you have more than a couple of instances of the Maya batch renderer ALREADY running. Check your activity monitor if you are on a Mac and quit them all, and then try starting your new one again....
