Hello

I’ve been an eager max user, but the last 6 months i’ve been working in Maya.
Thing are going well, but there’s two things I can’t get my head around.

1. How do I scale in just two axis using the manipulator?
Say I was in top view and wanted to scale some verts in X and Z but not in Y.
How would I go about doing that?

2. How do I scale individual faces from there center?
Say I select some faces at random on a sphere. Now I want to scale these guys, not from a common center, but rather from the individual face’s centers? Hope you understand.

Obviously, I’m asking because I’m used to this i max, and can’t seem to do it in Maya.

1. Hold CTRL and scale with the axis handle that you dont want to be affected by the scale. So CTRL + Y axis will scale along the X+Z axis

2. Edit Mesh > Tranform component

Excelent, thank you.
I had a hard time finding answars to these simple questions in the documentation, so I’m glad there’s someone to ask on these boards.
