Im trying to think of a way to create a powdery substance in Maya. I can do it but Im short on ideas. Anyone have any ideas about how they would go about this?

By the way Im trying to create flour (yes the kind you bake with).

Thanks.

I think if you format particals to react with gravity and not have much mass then it would work.

Yes I thought of particles, however I’m trying to keep the render time down and also particles require hardware rendering as I am rendering with the software renderer.

I was actually wondering if anyone knows a way or even a plugin that can convert particles to geometry or a material?

I basically have a mound of particles (to simulate baking powder, yes its a food scene).

Thanks.
