Hey guys, new member here. Just recently joined, been a long time user of Maya though and am a student at the current moment. In any case, I had deleted a few files on a USB drive awhile ago which were of course scene files that I needed/wanted… In any case thought I couldn’t recover them for a few months and the usb drive was used for picture storage by another person. I had some free time at today and recently found a software to recover deleted files. In any case I was able to grab the said screens but now I am unsure if they are whole or not, simply because they display on my pc that they are maya binary files, yet when I try to open them in maya an error message pops up that says the file is an unrecognizable type. Was just wondering if there was a way to possibly either repair these files or if they are pretty much shot to hell even though they were technically salvaged and the clusters were good for them off the usb drive. In any case the file is included in this post as an attachment if anyone wanted to see if they could do something with it. At this point though I am hoping I can do something with this. If not looks like I need to start from scratch again. I also have alot of the swatches as well, in case that makes a difference as well. At this point I am just looking to see if there are any ideas or tricks that can be used to devise a way to possibly use recover them. Thanks again all.

The attachments are not on the post. I think if they were saved as .ma they could be saved. I’m not sure about .mb files. How large are the files in KB ?.
