Hi, please anyone know how to obtain a render image of the uv layout shaded like the one attached? In 3d StudioMax is possible using “render to texture” option.

I have found that the tool you are looking for is called “Transfer Maps”, which is under the Render Tool Set -> Lighting/Shading. I don’t know how to use it though sorry!

Hi, I realize this may not be exactly what you need either… but it Does render out your shading to texture for you, follow the steps below to get ambient occlusion working, it’s really quick, and might give you general shading as you have shown in your sample image above.
