Does anyone know how to set up a image plane that doesn’t become x ray if you only want the object in front of it deformed while modeling? It is often hard to see details of a reference image while zooming for detail when it is also transparent. I thought maybe using separate layers would do the trick but i was wrong.

i animate the transparency of a lambert shader and assign it to my object during modeling…
so i could scrub the timeline to make it transparent…
