Does any one know how to solve this or what to do to avoid this insanly irritating “Feature”. ( I call it this because it might as well be because it happens so often)
This particular error is so unpredicable and so common it’s driving me insane.
I get it when i try assign shaders to objects or faces.
I’m using a combination of render layers with the same object on various layers having different shaders assigned. The error is so unpredicable if I unselect the object and select it again it works, if i assign the shader @ face level it some times works… etc.
Please can some one shed some light on this
Thanks

Can you show the shader graphed out in the hypershade or post the scene file?
Kinda hard to troubleshoot based on the given information.

This has been happening to me since version 8. I submitted this bug when I was still employed by Autodesk, but seems to no avail. There is a number of bugs that exist since version 8 that to this day have NOT been addressed. Embarrassing to say the least.
