The mipmapping options worked perfectly in Maya 2008 but they do not work anymore in Maya 2009.

Shading—Hardware Texturing—Option Box—Mipmap Trilinear.

This option is using the following Mel Script line :

modelEditor -e  -td "modulate" -ts 6 -ta 1 `getPanel -wf`;

But the -ta flag only works with the values 1 AND 2 in Maya 2009
And in Maya 2008 it worked perfectly with the values 1 TO 6.

IS there a way to fix this bug? I know lot of colleague working on iphone having this problem under Maya for testing the mipmap Trilinear.

Also the documentation in Maya 2008 and Maya 2009 will say that :

-textureSampling(-ts) int queryedit
Set the type of sampling to be used for texture display. The argument can be either: 1 : means to perform point sample 2 : means to perform bilinear interpolation (default)

Thank you for help.

Here is an opened thread about this problem on Polycount :

We are Wednesday and I added this thread Monday.

Does this community is really running by Autodesk?

Autodesk runs this site - but does not necessarily use it as a means for tracking bugs in their software.
You should submit a CER to Autodesk for more immediate attention.

I just downloaded and installed the trial version of Maya 2010-64 bits and the mipmap trilinear option doesn’t work too…

This is very strange the only version working correctly is the 2008 one…

And last thing I also update my 2009 version with the SP1 :

....and it doesn’t change anything to the current problem :(

Please could the 3 following options work in Maya 2009?

Autodesk_MipmapTrilinear_A.jpg

I didn’t get an answer yet from the bug I sent to Autodesk 2 weeks ago.

It could really help people they work for game Industry on an engine using the mipmap-Trilinear mode.

Also I paid Maya 2009 approximately 250 000 yen last year then it could be nice if someone from Autodesk could contact me and say more about this bug and then fix it????

Thank You

Hi,

I got an answer from Autodesk one month ago about the bug I committed.
Finally nothing will be done to resolve the mipmapping problem (Maya 2009 to Maya 2011).

Here are 2 video I would like to share you can understand what remapping means and what are the weird effect it will create in the Maya’s viewport :

(I advise you watch the videos with 720p + fullscreen mode)

I am really disappointed since it works perfectly in Maya 2008.
