Hi Frndzzzzzzzz,
Me n my group is making short movie all things are ready n we hav started animation so the major prob is this that as we import character to BG than it takes 1 Hr in importing the character n 1 -2 Hrs in saving that file. We are using Corei5 processor n 8 GB Ram . The OUTLINERS N HYPERSHADE r cleaned of Both BG’s and Character File.
Also when we Click on Shading Network of the file it hangs the PC. we have tried a lot bt nt able to sort out this problem. So guys please Help us we r in big mess.
The new thing, our file wid character n bg the file size is 24mb. when we deleted all things from it means Character, BG, Clened Outliner , Hypershade , Optimised File Size, Delete layers , Utilities, Lights,camera, Shading network everything The scene is blank then also file taking 20 min to save n the blank file size is 7 mb in (.mb format) & 9 mb in (.ma Format) .
Now what to do what is left in that scene?

There’s tons of crap that Maya doesn’t manage that can seriously screw up file handling. One of the classics is imagePlanes, these just have a habit of hanging round, we’ve had some scenes in the past with 100,000+ just because of the amount of times artists use standard files and import, which gets imported and so on. Just take the ‘Dag Objects Only’ off in the outliner and look what you’ve got left in your scene (it can be frightening sometimes!)
We manage the hell out of scenes now, intercepting them on file load and opening up a scene Health report so people know when things are starting to get bad.
