I have run into this problem way too many times to just let it go yet another time. Can someone from Autodesk Dev team please explain this to me like I’m a 5 year old child: why does Maya at random delete default scripts/tools from menus?? This is absolutely unacceptable, period!

performPolyToCurve 1; when invoked from the Script Editor brings up the option window, naturally, but it’s nowhere to be found in the Modify --> Convert --> Polygon Edges to Curve (where it normally should reside)????? I am running default installation of Maya 2009 with a few custom scripts. How in the world can a default option disappear from the main menus at random, without warning?!?!?

I did a bit of digging through my preferences and apparently HK Local Tools modifies the ModObjectsMenu.mel. If you installed HKLocalTools go to your scripts folder and simply dump ModObjectsMenu.mel, and you should be good. Apologies to ADSK for jumping to conclusions:)
