I understand that to reset the start up screen back to normal you load presets and then hit default.

How do I do this see attached.

Click the ‘maximize’ icon up in the top right corner (the square icon, just to the left of the big red ‘X’).

yes I did that, however when I restart maya the start up screen still goes the the left side,as in the attached jpeg, I was told to go to presets and load the default settings, How do I load the preset default settings, this is my question. The max button only resets on that session of maya not on the next start-up.

a couple of ways to fix this is:

1. resize your window, and restart maya .. I do mean resize NOT maximize..

or

2. go to your my documents / maya / version / prefs folder, and delete the windowsPrefs.mel

Start maya, and all your maya windows has been reset.
