I am trying to import an audio file to MAYA 2008 and I keep getting the error message “Audio file Library error 50: AFopenfile’ Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?  Thanks for your help.

Most likely something to do with the .wav file itself
snipped from a CGTalk discussion: (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=548664)

“Check to make sure the .WAV is encoded to a standard format with no compresion. .WAV files can be compressed in various ways, and Maya doesn’t understand this.

If it’s a .WAV you downloaded from a website, there’s a high probability that it uses compression. Run it through an audio editor such as Audacity, render to an uncompressed file. Also make sure the bit depth is 8 or 16 bits, I have a feeling that Maya will also fail to load the .WAV if it’s a non-standard bit depth.

As a test, try ripping a CD to a standard 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo file and see if Maya can import it properly.”
