Hey,

Is anyone using Vista 64 with Maya 2009 64 or Mudbox 2009 sp1 and if so, what has been your experience.

Thanks,

Wes

Whats up man? yea I’m running on those systems. The only problems so far are trying to figure out maya’s new rendering and i had to update my video card drive to the latest driver in order to successfully run Maya. Other than that no problems.

What have you run into?

Hey,

I don’t have the system yet, I just wanted to check into it before I placed the order.

Thanks for the info!

Wes

Hey, Actually I did think of something you might know. Are you having any issues using Quicktime with vista 64? Also, I am currently using an Apple 23” Cinema display on my windows XP pro system. Do you think I’d have any issues using this display on Vista 64? I know there aren’t any drivers for it, but I’m not using any drivers for it on XP. I am doing all of my color correction via 3rd party software.

Thanks a lot!

Wes

Sorry wouldn’t know about the apple cinema. I use Quick time pro and don’t have any problems. What exactly do you mean about color correction?

NOTE: Its just a monitor its should be fine and the corrections should be OK it should work with anything. Of course it wont give you best quality cause it depends if its VGA or DVI and its a MAC to a PC that’s never fun hope that helps

Great news about the quicktime pro.

For Color correction with the Apple display, I meant to say monitor calibration.  On the PC you don’t get controls in the Control Panel for adjusting monitor color and brightness. We use Spyder color calibrator to set up the monitor calibration. In that case, I don’t need drivers or INF files for the monitor. The apple display uses DVI, so I assume it will work with vista 64. I am getting a BOXX with an nVidia quadro fx 4800 card, which uses DVI.

Thanks a lot!

I’m running Vista Ultimate 64 with bootcamp on a Mac Pro 8 Core...works really well, though I am just starting out so I haven’t gotten too deep into the program. I had one issue with the Insert Edge Loop tool not working when I had the cameras visible in the scene. I just hide them now and it works fine.
