We have a setup of Quadro4000 based Intel workstations with Windows7 pro, 16GB RAM at our workplace.
Recently we began a test in Maya 2010 for stereo requirements.
Off late we have noticed that our scene files (containing rigged production assets) keep raising
fatal errors upon loading in wireframe mode/ shaded mode/ textured mode. If in the same viewport, we
switch to show “nurbs curves”, we are able to navigate freely in the workspace without any issues.
Even if the same scenes have display set to none. the issue does not arise at all.
I have tried all versions of drivers beginning with the first version that Nvidia launched when this
card was launched hoping it was a driver issue but the same error remained.
I searched other forums regarding this which suggested few performance
tweaks(window->prefs->fast idisplay"on", unloading all plugins not needed, show viewcube “off”, max
swatch display"off", modules -> dynamics/ p.effect “off") in Maya and in Windows Nvidia control
panel(Threaded optimization, Triple buffering/ vsync “off”, texture filtering-trilinear optimization
“off”,Multi display/ Mixed GPU acceleration: single display perf mode) as well as Aero interface “off”.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated…
