Project Menu Items no longer working- Maya 2010 on OS X 10.6.5

The options under File->Project (New… | Edit Current… | Set...) have stopped working.

When selecting any of these options, the current work area window “flashes” for a second (subtle flash around the border) and nothing else (not presented with a pop-up/dialog window).

I removed my project directory and restarted Maya 2010. This built a new “default” project. But any attempts to use the features mentioned above fail.

I’m running Maya 2010 on OS X 10.6.5

Any ideas?
