Maya menus don't show

When I open up this file, (.mb) I get a bunch of errors along the lines of Cannot find procedure “...Menu”, and no menu is available (I like on Create menu for example and no items show), nor is any window such as Script Editor.

Any ideas?

Does it happen when you open a ‘new’ scene?
Try starting fresh - and ‘import’ your scene instead of ‘opening’ it… report back.

Thanks for the reply n8skow. Yes, I did try that actually, and the file just took a long time to import and then crashed Maya. I was told that the files I’m trying to open were done in Windows, so I have a feeling that might be the issue since I’m using Mac.

Shouldn’t be the issue as .ma/mb files are cross-platform.

Have you tried wiping your Maya preference file?
Last resort - tried a reinstall of Maya?
