Hypershade Default Layout?

Whenever I open Hypershade it always defaults to this terrible space-waisting layout.  How can I force it to open up differently?  See the image…


3ds Max 2013, Maya 2013
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Core i7, 12GB RAM
Nvidia Quadro FX 3700 (Driver 267.17)

But I cannot find the hyperShadePanel.mel file in OS X. Anyone know where I can look for that?

Here’s the location of the .mel file in OS X:

Right click on the app> show package contents> scripts> others> hypershadePanel.mel

It looks like the size of the hypershade popup is set in hyperShadePanel.mel
I haven’t found where the ‘workArea’ is sized though…

Do you also have the same problem I’m describing every time you open Hypershade?

yea this is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is there a way to save the default layout?
I mean this is maya 2012..with hotfix2.

Also the outliner does not show sometimes, it just look blank..is this a bug???????
