I have a few different scenes in which I have a bunch of referenced objects and characters. We use the parent scene on multiple computers, and every time we try to open the parent scene, it asks to locate some of the references. Even though I click to remember file location, it never does. It always asks to find the files, and it never asks to find all of them, just certain ones. There are probably 30 different objects referenced in the parent scene, and it asks me to find 6 or 7 every time I open it.

I am now having the issue that once the parent scene is open, every time I try to render or close the scene, Maya crashes.

I’m relatively new at referencing files, so any help on what I’m doing wrong would be great. Or maybe you know of some good referencing tutorials? Thanks for your help.
