what sytsem are using?  If you have a a pdu that will let you change the bit color. change it to 16. maybe that will work… Could you show a picture of what you are talking about?

I have had this happen a few times before.  I don’t know what causes it but if I just click on one of the layouts (outliner/persp for example) in the left toolbar the viewport corrects itself.  Maybe that will work for you.  What graphics card are you using?

Ok, I am using an 8800 GTX.  Have you tried changing the settings for the graphics card?  I have found maya to be VERY picky when it comes to display settings.  The only way I could get mine to work was to open the nvidia control panel, adjust the settings using the performance preset, then switching to manage settings and changing anisotropic filtering to 8x, antialiasing mode to override, and antialiasing setting to 4x.

Yeah,
try changing the settings on the graphics card. It might help.
