This is probably a simple question, but I can’t seem to find an answer on it anywhere ...
When I launch Maya 8.5 on my Mac, the program always spawns a new project directory inside my user directory:
/Users/me/Documents/maya/projects
I have a default projects directory already set up on a software raid (via Maya preferences). I have also configured Maya to start in this same directory location (via preference settings). Maya always writes my project data to the directory location I’ve specified, but it also spawns the above directories upon each launch. They aren’t being used, and I’d like to prevent them from showing up in my documents folder.
Can I fix this? Do I need to edit a config file or something?
TIA
Rob

Try File>Project>Set… then select the directory.
Not sure if that’s what you were going for, but it’s worth a try.

You might have to edit the Maya.env file.
