lately i been gettin a lot of fatal errors which terminates my maya program when ever i select certain parts of the model. does any1 know how 2 fix that problem? or at least prevent it in the future?

Hi,
try to delete the content of the folder:
c:/documents & settings/ your name/local settings/temp.
and restart computer and maya.
If it is not suffisant, when you open your file in maya, export .your scene in .obj without selecting them, and re-import the .obj in a new file.
