i think any mel is setup the same way. if you have setup mel script before then… its the same way.
place the mel scripts inside the maya/8.5/scripts folder
then when inside maya go to script editor.
then source that script and run the command.

Is there a list of commands somewhere? Or are you just suppoesed to look at the history and learn it that way?

usually, the author of the mel script will write all the instructions inside their mel scripts.
I had actually used this rockgen script before for a project. if you download it from http://www.highend3d.com/maya/downl.../misc/1540.html.

Put the scripts inside C:\Documents and Settings\Ganesh(your username)\My Documents\maya\8.5\scripts
Then open maya. go to Script Editor. File>Source Script. find the script from that folder mentioned above.
now, Type rockGen; in the script editor.
then select all. then hit Ctrl+Enter. Then you should see a window to create the rocks for your scene.

That’s all. Hope you can do that.

Ganesh.
