I’m trying to see if there’s a way to import old Maya 1.0 files into Maya 2009.  Even if I have to go through some painstaking process to make it happen.  A client from about 8 years ago wants to update a logo they did back then, but don’t have any of the files.  I found the old .mb and .ma files, but can’t open them.  Any ideas?

Try going into the options box for ‘open scene’ and check the box “ignore version”.

That seemed to do the trick, although components seem to be missing.  At least I can some of the basic parts from it.  Perhaps when I resave it, the files will work.

Thank you.

Components?
Could you explain a bit more?
