I’m trying to import a .mb from what I thought was maya 8.5 unlimited x86 to maya 8.5 unlimited x64 but apparently the x64 version is stating:

“Errors have occurred while reading this scene....” and the script editor says…

file -f -o “J:/My Maya Stuff/My Buildings/Mayo_Building.mb”;
// Error: line 1: Unknown Maya file version: 2008. //
// File read in 0 seconds.
// Warning: Errors have occurred while reading this scene that may result in data loss.
Please check the Script Editor for details. //
// Error: Error reading file. //
// Error: Error reading file. //
commandPort -securityWarning -name commandportDefault;
// Error: Could not create command port : commandportDefault //

and in the “Output Window” Which I think is associated with Mental Ray states “Maya binary file parse error:  : (6) corrupted file structure”

Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

If you could turn that into a *.ma file somehow you can open it in a text editor and change the line where it says it was a Maya 2008 file back into 8.5.

Well I can open it back up on the first machine, should I just save it in that as a .ma? and then edit it how you mentioned? or can I actually change it in maya as a .ma? without using a text editor?  Thanks in Advance!
