Unable to view SketchUp (FBX) model in Maya

I’ve just imported a model from SketchUp (.FBX) into Maya and can’t seem to see the model in my workspace.  The only way to see the model is by rendering it.  I can’t even highlight or select the model in the workspace?  Any advice?

So the viewport is empty?
do you see the grid?
