I have a scene setup where I have geometry instanced to nparticles. I have the simulation setup and cached and everything seems fine in the viewport when scrubbing through the timeline, maya even tells me that the nCache has been created and connected to the particle instance etc etc.

However when rendering, my instanced geometry disappears! All the geom connected to the instancer just doesn’t render. I am rendering in Mentalray and the instanced geometry are using the mia_material.

Has anyone come across this before, or know why it is happening? I have no idea why this should be happening, I just don’t know if I’ve done something wrong, or if this is a bug. The scene was created in Maya 2009, but the same error is repeated in both 2009 and 2010…

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
