Hi,

the hair splines in the following video are colliding with a “collision-box”. After collision they start to bounce around like crazy, it seems that the are not loosing power over time, or the box is bouncing them away.

video clip

Does anybody know which settings prevent the splines from bouncing so extremely and let them calm down.

thanks in advance. =)

if you cilck on the hairsystem node for your folicles in there there will be a couple of things that you can do.
stiffness is one you will find that under the solve tab and under that you will find the froces tab and in there you will find drag and motion drag. have a little play with them they should give you what you want. if not and you want them to be stiffer and to hold more of their original shape then towards the bottom on your hairshape node you will find start curve attract thats a handy one to try your curve will bend dynamicly but will try to retain as much of its original shape as possible.
i hope that helps ive been trying to work out the same sort of things over the last few days, i am stuck at the mo on one of the things that you appearr to have solved how did you get both curves to colide with each other?. i have 40 odd wires hanging out of one side of a robot and i can sort out colision objects but just cant get them to interact with each other, i have asked on here but t the moment no replys yet.
