I’m an artist that uses Maya, however an engineer in my firm wants to be able to import a
data set into Maya to realistically simulate the actual motion of waves, bouys, etc. from the data that he collected. Can someone please tell me the process needed to accomplish this or what is needed to do this.
Thank you for your time.

I can very likely help you, but I would need to know what format the data is in. If you can’t publish the data here; email me at michiel(at)thnkr.com I can help you convert the data into something Maya can read or help you talk to the engineers so that they can provide something that Maya can work with.

THNKR- Thanks for your response. I don’t know the format of the data yet because the guy is on vacation this week. I was looking into it before he gets back. Is there a preferrable format that Maya likes to read? Also can you give me a brief outline of the process? Thanks a lot.
