Create geometry from particle instance?

I’m using the particle instancer to create clusters of leaves.  Once the particles are generated, is it possible to create selectable and transformable geometry from the instances?  I’d like to select various clusters, duplicate them and place them in other areas of my scene.

I know I can disconnect the particles from time and “freeze” them on the screen - now I want to take the next step.
