Help! Does anyone know a good tutorial on how to add/modify hair/fur in Maya 2010? Can it even be done?

I can’t seem to find it on Lynda.com—although, they have one for 3ds max, but hey, one thing at a time! I just started learning Maya 2010 (no previous experience with maya).

Anything out there on the subject?

Please let me know. Thanks!

omg yet another software to learn, no thanks! i’ve got my hands full with toon boom and maya (i’m seriously into 2d, but 3d has snuck into my heart).

at any rate, just wanted to update anyone who’s watching…

i found another video tutorial site, aside from lynda.com (which i already have), that offered a bunch of great tutorials on adding and modifying hair and fur in maya, so for now, i’ll stick to that.

here’s the link, if anyone cares:

http://digitaltutors.com

costs about twice as much as lynda per month, but hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! ;-)

and thanks for the super fast reply! :-D

Mayas inbuild fur tool is ok. the digital tutors guys teach you mayas fur quite well.
but i also recommend shave and a haircut. its much much easier to learn and you will get really great results. its a plugin for maya so you dont have to learn a new software.

Maya’s hair and fur tool can do quite a lot if you wanted to stick with it. What kind of look are you after?
