Hi!
I am working on a project for school, and i need to make a scene with water, but i dont have Unlimited, so i dont have paint effects, how would i make a realistic water-like polygon/nurbs/subdv model?
Thanks,
AMK

paintFX ships with both Maya Unlimited and Complete.
Are you referring to MayaFluids?

You can fake a body of water with animated texures - but can’t really do any actual fluid simulations without a fluid simulator…

Thanks n8skow
How would paint effects help make water? Do you mean the texture or a bump map?
I also figure out how to make realistic water in a still image, i just used sculpt poly tool to make waves. This worked for what i needed it to do, just a small, low res school presentation.
Thanks -AMK

I wouldn’t use paintFX to make water. I was just addressing your statement that you don’t have to have Maya Unlimited to have access to paintFX…
