Hi,

Newbie, following tutorial, but paint won’t paint

0) tried Maya 2010 and 2011, same behavior
1) create plane, adjust
2) delete history
3) Create nCloth
4) select paintVertexProperties
5) select softBrush and I can see the brush and size, can adjust size with “b” hotkey
6) when I drag/rightClick, brush disappears, like it is painting, but nothing shows up and no wrinkles injected when I hit PLAY
7)?!?!?!?!?!?!

Anyone got any clues?

thanks,

FOUND ANSWER: Needed to select the nCloth, open Attribute Editor, select the nClothShape1 tab and in the Dynamic Properties section set Input Mesh Attract to 1.0.

My value was defaulting to 0, the person doing tutorial must have already adjuested this, but didn’t think to mention it or didn’t know the implications.
