Hi, I’m using nCloth to simulate hair clumps, and I’m experiencing what seems to be a bug in Maya 2009. If I try to paint rigidity and deform values onto the cloth vertices, it seems to have no effect. Using a texture map doesn’t work either. When I set rigidity and deform resistance to constant values, though, it performs as expected. I don’t see this problem when painting other attributes like stretch and bend. Is this a known 2009 bug, or can someone confirm that this really should work? I’m using the Linux version btw. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nevermind, I discovered my error. The “Paint Per-Vertex Attributes” tool paints weights, not explicit attribute values. It’s just a multiplier on the constant attribute value. My apologies.
