Im doing a water rig in which I want to some wooden material is floating on water as well as they moving. I have seen someones reel on youtube in which whole ship is moving along surface with waves.

I worked on Softimage in which they have Surface constraint to do this thing in which we can attach
object to its uv.
I want to do similar kind of thing in maya, I used follicles, surface attach, but I didnt get any results. If anybody has idea how to do that plz tell me.

check out the Ocean Examples in the visor

Window > Genereal Editors > Visor

and look for the Ocean Examples tab

Duncan put in some examples with a rowboat, a destroyer, a sailboat, and also a rubber dingy in one called SharkWake.ma.

These might be a good place to start.
