I’m still having problems with getting my instances to aim correctly. I made a butterfly, textured its wings to look like daisy pedals and grouped it. I used a sphere as a surface emitter and set that same sphere as a goal for the particles. I instanced the butterfly to the particles. I wrote an expression to get the particle to only emit around the “equator” of the sphere. I set up a locator to be the aim position and goalWorldNormal0PP to be the world aim up. once i emit the particles it looks fine except for 2 particles which are perpendicular to the rest. also, when i rotate the sphere, regardless of if the locator is parented to the sphere or not, most of the butterflies flip at some point. So, my question is: how do i get all the particles to be oriented the same way, not flip when i rotate the sphere and after a little time the butterflies fly away facing the correct direction? I’ll try my hardest to attach the file but it hasn’t worked in the past two days so i’ll post a link if it’s still not working. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

You can’t attach .mb files directly - you need to .zip or .rar them…

that still wasn’t working for me but it may have been because of the lack of a file extension. I’ll make sure to add that next time.

thanks
