The tails are inheriting their color (incandescence) from the specific particle they're the tail for through the following command. The problem is, many seconds after the simulation begins, once the parent particle shape has particles start to die, the colors of the tails for brand new parent particles don't match their parent's color, and all tails have the same color (instead of the randomly selected colors the different parent particles have.) And below Space scales issue is the performance issue, i got question about increasing "number of Substeps" or "number of iterations" can speed up the simulation. Since increasing these number would increasing calculation times, how could it be faster rather than "accurate bu slower" ?? Basically I have an emitter and a container, the emitter has settings such as Density/Voxel/Sec, Heat/Voxel/Sec, Fuel/Voxel/Sec and Turbulence. Those properties can be found in the fluid container as well. Density Scale, Velocity Scale, Temperature Scale and Turbulence Strength. I was wondering what's the difference between Density (and the other 3 properties) of the container and Density of the Emitter. According to the Maya Help File, Density/Voxel/Sec is the Density per voxel in each second. But Density of the fluid is how dens/thick the fluid is. (it sounds to me exactly the same..) I made a little test myself, by creating 2 identical Emitters/Containers and one had increased Density Scale and the other one had increase Density/Voxel/Sec. I'm guessing that 20 Density Scale is not the same as 20 Density/Voxel/Sec but even when I played around with the numbers I couldn't get both of them to look the same. So, what is the difference between changing the values in the emitter and changing the values in the fluid itself. Why change the values of the emitter when you have more control over the container? The acceleration does not reach a terminal velocity. Your RBD object will fall the same amount of units regardless of your units being set to centimeters or meters ( so if your units are set to centimeters it falls 4.5 cm the first 24 frames and if your units are set to meters then it falls 4.5 m the first 24 frames) Which meants you have to work either in meters with you gravity set to default -9.8 or your scene set to cenitimeters with your gravity set to -980 I also find the only way to make an object fall 9.8 units the first second is to turn the gravity to -21.3 or with your scene set to centimeters have gravity turned to -2130 to fall 9.8 meters the first second. I am using the 'make boat" and 'make float" to my objects on the object. it works, they float and rock). PROBLEM: When I do this, I can't have the "active rigid body" properties applied to my object so that they can collide and bounce off each other. So my floating objects intersect each other.
