I’ve got a simple particle emission setup using a file texture to control the emission rate on a surface, I want to map a projected ramp onto the colorGain of the file to give me more control. Alas, this doesnt work and subsequently ignores the projection.

I remember trying something similar many versions of Maya ago and this too didn’t work, despite trying loads of different combinations of connections and sneaky work arounds (layered textures etc..).. :-)

If anyone has had any similar problems and/or has any cunning workarounds I’d love to hear about them.

(p.s. Before anyone asks, no - I dont want to bake the texture out to a file, I’d like to keep it live and interactive)

Cheers,

Andy Mc..
