Hi
I am Sarah, I study Art and we have also some digital classes.
Now we have to use Maya2010 at school and we are supposed to create a building including texturing, animations and dynamics. I built a an old factory with 2 big chimneys made from brick (textures). I want to add dirty thick grey and black smoke, if it is possible also a few non-smoke particles. I think this is a second step and not made with one thing. I thought maybe I can do it with particles but I was not able to find anything in the internet and my skills with Maya are not good. This is my second project with it and our teacher never tells us how we are able to do it he only gives assignments and says: use the internet.
Sorry for my bad English but I am from the Netherlands.
Maybe someone knows a tutorial or a link how to do it. I will be really thankful - if you can help me.
kiss and greetings - Sarah

this seems relatively simple if you use a 3D fluid container, and follow this

the secondary particles can be created with the emit particle tool and setting them to clouds or sprites, depending on what you want them to look like.
