Just wanted to kinda rebump an earlier thread in case anyone had any news or maybe a solution to the issue some people seem to be having. Basically when I try to run Maya 2010
in Windows 7 I get this error “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.”
I tried running the program as admin, and with all the different compatibility modes. Even installed older versions of directx just to to check. Full virus scan with Avast and
several re-install of Maya did not solve it either.
Was wondering if anyone at all has any luck in running Maya on Win 7 or if Autodesk is working on trying to help fix this problem?
Thanks in advance…

I’m also having the same problem. I don’t know how but it did work with Windows 7 build 7600 but I just can’t get it right with the final version.
Did you manage to get to the bottom of the problem?
cheers

From what I remember the 7b errors can/may be related to not having the proper Microsoft Side by Side Assemblies installed for the MS runtime libraries. Possible the merge
modules didn’t get installed properly in the install or maybe were removed/deleted afterwards.
Can try to install the Microsoft runtine redist .exe files manually.

Some other threads have suggested re-installing .NET framework

I don’t get it, it worked just fine with win 7 build 7600 but it won’t work with the final version. I had both 2009 and 2010 installed and neither of them won’t start now

for anybody who’s been having the same problem I’ve found the solution.
From THIS Microsoft link download
the DirectX Redist (March 2009) and Maya will start. None of the other directx versions worked for me but the March version.
Hope it helps
