Hi,

I plan to buy a new macbook pro 13’’ and i was wondering if these specifications were enough to run Maya smoothly and without issue.

Intel Core Duo 2.53GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9400M Graphics

Someone on a mac forum had suggested that maybe the 9400m graphics card wasn’t enough. I somehow doubt this, but i’d like to verify it with you Maya users (especially anyone with the same macbook pro). Is the graphics card really too weak? Is it possible to custom install a new one?

Cheers in advanced.

I wouldn’t trust the opinion of someone who only knows one side of the story. Better find someone with a machine that has both the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT and run a comparison. This article explains how to turn switch between the two: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3207
